Marshall Track & Field Wins Multiple Medals at Sun Belt Conference Outdoor Championships

 By Ben Anderson      Marshall Track & Field made one final stride to conclude the 2024-2025 outdoor season at the Sun Belt Conference Outdoor Championships.      Leading the way for the Thundering Herd was the trio of long-distance runners Destiny Berryman winning silver in the women’s 1500, Hanah Wyler winning bronze in the same event, and Taylor Spencer winning bronze in the women’s Steeplechase.      Cross Country head coach Caleb Bowen said it’s been great to watch Wyler take on the leadership role of her previous teammates.       “We all knew once that once Kylee (Mastin) and McKenna (Woodruff) exhausted their eligibility that we needed to find somebody to lead the team.” Bowen said in an interview with First and Ben.” “I thought Hannah did a great job filling in that role it’s something she looked forward to all year and where Kylee and McKenna practiced in the mornings at like 5:00 a.m. she kind of had tha...

Marshall Baseball Aims to Secure First Sun Belt Conference Tournament Bid

 By Ben Anderson      In the final series of the regular season, Marshall Baseball aims to make history with a chance to qualify for the Sun Belt Conference Tournament for the first time in program history when it welcomes the Georgia Southern Eagles.       The last time the Thundering Herd qualified for a conference championship was in 2019 as members of Conference USA when the Herd fell to Rice in the third round.         Marshall enters at 28-24 (13-14 SBC) and currently sitting 6th in the standings, following a series sweep on the road against Georgia State. Georgia Southern enters at 27-26 (13-14 SBC) following a 6-4 loss against Kennesaw State and winning two of three games against Texas State and currently ranked 7th in the conference.       Marshall has found the most success at Jack Cook Field going 17-7 compared to 10-17 on the road.
